Some Thrust Areas of Research in College of Agriculture


Presently, 33 AICRP, 15 ICAR Adhoc projects, 4 State Government funded projects, 20 Central Government funded projects and 5 International Agency funded projects are running in College of Agriculture. Some of the thrust areas of the above research projects are:

Some Salient Research Achievements

  1. 12 Germplasm registered in 2021.
  2. 15 Varieties released and 09 varieties notified in 2021.
  3. In wheat, 13 germplasm accessions showed leaf rust resistance at adult plant and the presence of major leaf rust resistance gene, Lr­19­ was confirmed by SSR marker Xwmc221.
  4. In rice, formulation PBAT­­-3 showed minimum sheath blight severity as well as minimum percentage of Brown spot infected panicle.
  5. Submitted 6 PGPR microorganisms to National Agriculturally Improved Microbial Culture Collection.
  6. Submitted Gene Sequencing of white fly, pod borer and other insect pest in gene bank.
  7. With help of nanotechnology developed nano-formulations of fertilizer and botanicals.
  8. Developed forecasting model for late blight in potato crop.
  9. Developed various eco-friendly botanical formulation for insect pest management.
